Our past interns
My name is Ruairí and I study at the International School of Brussels (ISB). I am really passionate about all the sciences, particularly chemistry, and I am planning to study chemical engineering and environment in university. Recently, I began to get more and more interested in sustainable sciences with climate change becoming more and more relevant to today’s world as well. I’ve also played rugby since I was 8 and I aim to continue playing through university and beyond.
Déborah is a Master student in Communications at the VUB. She loves to travel and explore new cultures. She’s passionate about music, especially singing. There are so many things she still wants to learn in her life, from learning a few more languages, to learning to play a few more instruments, to learning to code. Luckily at G4g, she is learning lots of new things.
Marianna is a Master student of Communication Studies at VUB. Passionate about travelling, she has decided to settle down in Brussels where she had the chance to get to know greenlight4girls. Little genius in maths when at high school, she would like to foster this passion. Why maths? Well... 2+2=4 in the Netherlands as well as in India, and that's fantastic!
Emma is a student at the EEB2. She is passionate about science in general but prefers Chemistry and Biology. She loves animals and would like to pursue a career in medical science, more precisely veterinary, because she enjoys learning how the animal anatomy works and how it can “fix” itself. She really enjoys sports and music.
Sofia is a student at ISB who is passionate about law and literature. She is a member of her school’s speech & debate club, as well as Model United Nations (MUN). In her free time, Sofia also runs a fashion, travel, and lifestyle blog called Living in Plaid. Although she will not be pursuing a career in the sciences, Sofia loves learning about biology and environmental sciences.
My name is Celia and I am a student in the European School of Brussels III, in S5. I dream of studying to become a veterinarian because I love sciences and animals, and I would also like to combine it with psychology. I love dance and I would like to engage myself professionally with dancing. I also like drawing, singing, playing the piano, theater and sports like swimming, tae kwo do and volleyball.
Vicky is a primary school teacher and a Master's student in educational sciences who is always interested in finding exciting ways (like technology) to teach STEM. She was building an e-learning environment for g4g girls and also helping with events and activities.
Minji is a student at ISB who is passionate in terms of Science and Math, especially Biology and Chemistry. She enjoys sharing her knowledge in these subjects and is planning to study these subjects in depth in university and probably get a career related to Science as well.
Siqi Huang was one of our interns! She loves volunteering and she was excited about this opportunity to work with g4g. She has been helping to plan a fundraising event in Brussels.
Leonie Goettsch was one of our two new ladies joining the team as a training program during her Masters Degree. She was crazy about experiments and snow too!
Kate is a student at the EEB4. She is passionated by science, especially Chemistry and Biology, because she finds it so interesting and impressive that you can find out new things about the world every day. She doesn't enjoy English class that much but creative writing is one of her favourite things to do. She love ice skating and she is a fan of anything to do with sports.
Paola is a student at ISB who has always shown interest in sciences, especially biology. She also loves visual arts, including painting and drawing. Although she was still uncertain, Paola was considering studying environmental sciences in college.
Marina Georgiou, when a master's student in communications at VUB, helped plan g4g Day Brussels 2014. Although her background is in social media & communications, she quickly found the fun & passion in science during the event. Her favourite part? Organising the mentos/diet coke explosion… and decorating labcoats with the girls!
Clara studies at the EEB2. She has a strong passion for sciences, she is especially interested in Biology and Chemistry. She loves health, nutrition and sports. Her passion grows stronger everyday as she enjoys discovering the world and learning about the human body through science.
A graduate student in Education from Leuven University, Alyson volunteers at g4g HQ. She has been helping us with various HQ projects, including developing an impact survey nad loves spreadsheets, big data, KenKen puzzles, and Russian literature.
Sky is a student at the EEB4. She loves Chemistry and Biology and hopes to go into that field later on. She finds science so interesting because she really enjoys seeing it come up in daily life. Sky adores learning different languages, as they are a way to communicate with lots of people. She really likes singing and playing the piano.
Natascha is a senior at Koninklijk Atheneum Etterbeek who has a great love for languages and physics. From a young age, she has been an accomplished musician and participated in all our g4g Brussels events and in 2014 volunteered for the Mentos & Diet Coke experiment. She was considering studying either law or becoming a professional translator.
Soundharya was also not new to greenlight for girls! She led the Global scholarships project in 2012 and helped us get 4 girls in India to University! She was back on the board for the next set of girls and led the project!
